Biography:
Gloria Petyarre was born at Atnangkere Soakage, Northern Territory. This country would remain the inspiration for Gloria’s work. She later moved to Utopia, Northern Territory. Gloria Petyarre employs a unique style, using abstract methods to represent bush medicine leaves, grasses & body paint. She was a leading member of the Utopia Women’s Batik Group in the seventies. She produced her first canvas for CAAMA’s Summer Project exhibition
