Biography:

Elizabeth Marks Nakamarra lives east of Kintore, Northern Territory.  Elizabeth was raised by her stepfather, Turkey Tolson and her uncle, Johnny Warrangkula.  Both men are founding members of the Papunya Tula movement.  She married the late Mick Namarari Tjapaltjarri, also a key artist of the Papunya Tula movement.  Elizabeth studied at the Bachelor College in Alice Springs for three years and served as a council member for Kintore for two years.  Elizabeth began painting in 1998 and her work focuses on the stories taught to her by her family elders.
