Tribe: Pintupi/Warlpiri

Area: Kintore, Northern Territory

Born: 1965

Biography:

Dulcie Kelly was born at Papunya, Northern Territory. In 1995, her grandmother Naabda Nparullja taught Dulcie how to paint.  She taught Dulcie stories of the land, salt lakes, sand dunes and woman’s ceremonies. Dulcie Kelly’s paintings are aerial depictions of her country, which is Kintore. Her work is heavily influenced by her mother, the famous Lily Kelly Napangardi.  Dulcie employs similar techniques as her mother to apply her dot work.  Dulcie has however made the style her own and is an exciting new artist with an incredible eye for detail.
